Our Occupational Therapists work with individuals who suffer from mentally, physically, developmentally and/or emotionally disabling condition by utilizing treatments that develop, recover and maintain clients’ activities of daily living. An OT will help patients regain daily living skills such as bathing, dressing and toileting and facilitate their return to prior level of independence.
Our occupational therapists will perform a risk assessment of the patient’s home and make recommendations to improve client’s safety. The idea here is to make an environment “custom-tailored” for the patient and fit all his/her needs as much as possible.
An occupational therapist will develop a plan of care and will involve patient and his/her family in its development and updating. An OT will provide an ongoing education and guidance for patient’s caregivers and family members. He/she always interacts with other health care providers and the agency team for coordination of patient’s care and its revision and re-evaluation.
Needless to say, all patient related information is safeguarded as our health professionals highly observe confidentiality.
Here at Comfort Assisting we make sure that all our occupational therapists as well as other medical staff regularly attend patient care conferences and other home healthcare innovation events and meetings. This allows for maintaining the highest level of competence and being able to utilize the latest care practices and in their everyday work.
